Out for the count

Mute Swans on Pophills island

Jon kindly sent the below counts over from Sunday 26th June as I'm still immobile following my minor operation last Wednesday. Hoping the pain and the tiredness reduces in coming days so I can get back on my feet.

9 pairs of Little Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 7 Grey Heron, 15 Mute Swan, 15 Greylag, 86 Canada Geese, pair of Shelduck and 6 ducklings, 39 Gadwall (a high count of moulting birds, but no broods found), 145 Mallard, 1 Shoveler, 1 Pochard, 96 Tufted Duck, 182 Coot, 2 Oystercatchers, 4 Little Ringed Plover, 10 Lapwing, 6 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 70 Stock Dove, 3 Sand Martins, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Garden Warbler singing, 1 Chiffchaff x Willow Warbler mixed singer at Marsh Farm and 7 Ravens, as well as the regulars.

Insects out included 8 Marbled White, the first Small Skippers and 8 species of dragonfly including 7 Scarce Blue-tailed Damselflies.
