More trouble & strife

What ever the weather I’m always up for Salford Priors hoping to find something new or just watch the regular species go about their daily business. However recently the continued massacre of the habitat makes it much harder work. This Sunday I discovered that one of the scrub areas that the Turtle Doves fed has been completed destoyed and returned to a ploughed area for farming. So disappointing………

The best bird on show was the male Peregrine who was hunting the Red-legged Partridges. In fairness it wasn’t having a successful time no doubt affected by the wind which seems to blight every weekend at the moment. Other highlights were limited to two Green Sandpipers on Pophills, a Jack Snipe and 25 Snipe. Tough days at the moment, perhaps next weeks WEBS count will deliver more luck.
