I started writing this blog over three weeks ago. Unfortunatley I caught a very bad dose of the virus which completley knocked me off my feet. It's going to take a while to get back to normal strength but every day is an improvement now.
The patch year list now stands at 77 thanks to some nice additions.
The railway path has had some great numbers visiting the seed we have put down. The flock highest counts were as follows:- Chaffinch 1100-1300, Greenfinch 40, Yellowhammer 10, Brambling 4, Goldfinch 150, Linnet 300.
Other sightings of note with highest counts are :- 23 Russian White-fronted Geese, 5 Wigeon, 8 Goosander, a Chiffchaff, Cetti's Warbler, 40 Lapwing, Treecreeper, Mistle Thrush, Bullfinch, Great Black-backed Gull, Water Rail, Common Gull in roost, & returning Oystercatcher (27th January).
