This week Wednesday was clearly the best weather day of the week so I booked the day off & arranged a day out with Butterfly Dave Williams & Craig Jones, also known as the Kidderminster penioners.

Our first destination was the stunning Haddon Hill on the edge of Exmoor. We arrived at 9.30 am with the temperature being 16 degrees. On the walk down the heath I picked up Tree Pipits & Redstarts.

The area had substancial growth but this had no effect on the butterflies. There were at least 50 Heath Fritillarys on the wing and more were emerging during our visit. Other butterflies included my first Large Skipper of the year and also a change to photograph some Green Hairstreaks.
