3 Juvenile Grey Heron on main island
Meadow Brown
Small Tortoiseshell
White Admiral
Meadow Brown
It's reached that time of year when we don't expect to see any decent birds so we will take anything. The surprise this week was a pair of Egyptain Geese that have been with us for an extended stay. Three juvenile Grey Herons were making the most of every extending island.
Down butterfly alley, the Meadow Browns came out with force whilst the first brood of Common Blues were just about hanging on.
It was nice to see my first Greenshank up at Morton Bagot and also had drive out to see the poppy fields at Grafton.
